MG put all of the bragging here, so you can easily find (or avoid) it.
Stanford University: BA in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity
MG graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She acted and directed with the Stanford Shakespeare Company (and served as Artistic Director during her final year), and wrote and performed as a company member of both Robber Barons Sketch Comedy Troupe and Ram's Head Theatrical Society. She spent terms studying abroad in Oxford, where she completed a tutorial on Shakespeare, and in Cape Town, where she worked with The Magnet Theatre and completed a photography series as a SICA Arts Grant recipient. Throughout her time at Stanford, she directed and edited videos for the Stanford Alumni Association, Ram's Head Theatrical Society, and Kappa Kappa Gamma. She won 2nd place in the campus-wide Poetry Into Film competition, for her video "For Our Cities"--her love letter to Kansas City.
UC San Diego: MFA in Acting
MG taught undergraduate Public Speaking and Acting courses; for her consistently stellar teaching evaluations, she was awarded the "Outstanding Contribution to Undergraduate Instruction in the Department of Theatre and Dance." Her speech on theatrical research and eating disorders won 2nd place in the university-wide Grad Slam competition.
As an actor:
MG has extensive experience with Shakespeare: she has performed in roughly a dozen productions of his work, and trained under Marco Barricelli and Ursula Meyer at UCSD. She is a trusted collaborator on new work, and loves the energy of a roomful of artists all working to create something together. She is a strong physical comedian, with training and performance experience in mask and commedia
As a videographer:
MG has been producing, directing, and editing music videos, short films, theatrical trailers, promotional and corporate content, youtube influencer videos, acting reels, and more since 2010. Her clients include Keith Wallace (for The Bitter Game at the Public Theater's Under The Radar Festival), Glooko, Inc., Shaken: The Cocktail ChallengeArtsKC + The Kansas City Chiefs, Stanford University Alumni Association, and the UCSD Department of Theatre and Dance. Primarily self-taught, she has paved her own way to becoming a fierce filmic storyteller and devoted collaborator. She loves getting the chance to say: "I don't know, but I'll figure it out."
As a human:
MG has four siblings, whom she adores. She speaks Spanish, but wants to become fluent (also in ASL and Arabic while she's at it). She's got a strong proclivity for dyeing her hair wild colors. She likes being in nature, but she's allergic to everything. Ask her what her karaoke song is.
